Our church met in conference last Sunday evening, May 2, to hear multiple reports and to elect individuals for committee service. Two search committees were elected for current pastoral staff vacancies. Our congregation had the opportunity to nominate members for the two search committees at the end of April. At our Church in Conference last Sunday members voted based on these nominations. The five individuals with the most votes were elected to each committee with a minimum of two males and two females in each.
The results for the election of the search committee for the Pastor of Spanish Language Ministry Discipleship are:
- Eder Ibarra
- José Luis Jiménez
- Leo (Polo) Leal
- Reyna Cuellar
- Faby Haro-Gama
The results for the election of the search committee for the Pastor of Student Discipleship are:
- Denisse Delgado-Ibarra
- Caleb Brana
- Tom Centrella
- Josué Cedillo
- Chely McBain
This week the personnel committee will finalize the job descriptions for these two positions. The search committees will meet over the next two weeks to elect a chair person and to develop a strategy for their task. Our executive pastor, David Chan, and myself will be working closely with these two committees.
We ask that you pray for each as they seek God's direction in filling these two very important roles in our church for making disciple-makers among our Spanish language population and our students.
