Virtual Town Hall / CIC

 

     For at least two weeks we have been announcing our Virtual Town Hall / CIC Meeting through our livestream services, our enews and webpage.  All Calvary members are invited to join this Sunday, August 30 at 6:30 PM (see zoom meeting info at the bottom of this post).  We will share reports and take action on two brief items.

     Normally we have a Church in Conference in the spring where we hear reports and act on important items.  Due to the pandemic our spring Church in Conference was a special meeting that dealt only with one item.  Although we have a fall Church in Conference calendared we thought it would be important for the church to receive mid-year reports.

     Calvary's ministry has continued during this pandemic year and God is moving through us and around us.  We want you to hear and celebrate.  So come be informed.

     We also have one item that we need to act on before September 1.

     Our Bylaws call for the selection of a Deacon Screening and Nominating Committee which will receive deacon nominations, screen them and then present them to the church.  This Deacon Screening and Nominating Committee is made up of nine (9) members.  Three are selected by the pastoral staff, three by the deacon body and three are elected by the church.  The three from the church should be elected before September 1.

     Thus the nominating committee will present the following three names to the church on Sunday night: (1) Berenice Gordillo (2) Evelyn Kizzia and (3) Herminia Colegio.

     Previously our church had approved having our fall church in conference on November 22.  This Sunday night we will ask the assembly to consider approving November 15 instead.

     In order for the reports to be approved and these two brief items to be brought for a vote we will need to have a quorum of sixty (60) members in our virtual meeting.

     There will be opportunity for questions and discussion.
