I hope you are preparing and planning to participate in our Calvary Church in Conference on Sunday evening, November 15 at 6:30 PM. For more information about that you can read my blog post Our Annual Meeting!
In addition to that opportunity I want to invite you to participate in the Texas Baptists first ever virtual annual meeting. This is a rare opportunity because attending this meeting of Texas Baptists involves travel and lodging during weekdays. However, this year it will be a virtual meeting on Monday, November 16, and Tuesday, November 17, in the evenings.
The annual meeting will consist of two different type of events which involve the work of God's kingdom through Baptists in our state:
Monday, November 16 at 6:00 PM: Business Session (Registered Messengers only)
In this meeting messengers from the various Baptist churches in Texas will be able to elect the new Convention officers, vote on the Convention's 2021 budget, and participate in other business. A messenger is a member authorized by a qualifying church to vote and participate in this business session. (It does not mean that he has to be a speaker or take a particular message from the church. Other organizations call this role "delegates").
If you are a Calvary members and are interested in participating in this capacity please contact our church office by Friday, November 13 before noon in order to register you so. You may call the office phone and ask for Andree Lopez or you may email her directly at andree@calvarymcallen.org Once our office registers you, you will receive an email from the Texas Baptists office with information for the zoom meeting and further instructions.
Tuesday, November 17 at 6:00 PM: Celebration Session (no registration required)
This meeting is open to everyone, not just messengers. It will consist of worship, a message from Dr. David Hardage, executive director, a sermon from Dr. Michael Evans, convention president and stories about what our mission offerings through the Cooperative Program have accomplished.
No registration is required for this celebration. It will be live-streamed via the following:
