Interim Student Ministry Associates

     This next week Eli Garza begins his role as Interim Student Ministry Associate (Middle School and High School) and Frank San Martin continues his role as College and Young Adults Associate at Calvary McAllen.

     Both Eli and Frank have been Pastoral Ministry Interns at Calvary.  (You can read my August 18 blog post about this here).  Pastor Marcus Rodriguez, who has served as Pastor for Families with Students for over eleven years will end his role at Calvary on September 15 before going to serve at Houston's First Baptist Church as High School minister.  (You can read about it and watch the video I posted on August 23 here).  We pray for Pastor Marcus and his family during this transition and rejoice at what God has in store in His Kingdom.

     In the video above Eli and Frank share about themselves and their commitment to Calvary's vision and the disciple-making among our students.  We are so grateful for these young men who God has brought to our church and who are already being used by him to strengthen our student ministry.  (Initially Eli will be considered three-quarter time and Frank one-quarter time).

     I hope to work with the personnel committee to present a new staff organization for Calvary McAllen's future at our November 15 Church in Conference.  There are currently three pastoral staff vacancies in a pastoral staff team of seven.  Once the new staff organization is in place the congregation may elect search committees to fill these vacancies.

     Please pray for our student ministry associates and our students during this transition.  Pray for our remaining pastoral staff team as they serve in multiple areas.  Pray for me, the personnel committee, and the congregation as we seek God's direction in staffing Calvary well for the fulfillment of God's mission as we approach 2021.
